A wee bit about me

07 Sep

Hello, I’ m Evelyn.

History lover, arty type, keen walker, would be outdoorsy sort. Proud Scot but not in a ‘Brave heart sort of way.’๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m lumbered with a combination of mental health problems and I find all of these activities escapist and therapeutic, although I probably should spend more time doing them and less watching telly…

Yes, I’ll admit that I wouldn’t mind making some cash out of writing. In fact, I’d love to write an historical novel …now I just have to decide where and when to set it…

So here are some of the things I ‘ would like to’ do, in no particular order

1. Write that novel!
2. Live in a caravan in the woods
3. Become physically and mentally fitter.
4. Learn about politics and the law
5. Become a better artist
6. Help people with mental health problems
7. Do more horse riding

I’ ll be writing about history, art, mental health, walks I’ be been on and well, basically anything in the news that grabs my interest.

I don’t have any decent photos but I will get some. I might even post up some of my drawings if I have the nerve!

I hope you enjoy my wanderingsโ˜บ

    Hiya Evelyn,
I’m pretty sure that we met on the Future Learn Creative Writing Course, but I could be entirely wrong – maybe your memory is better than mine about such things?
I’m Robert and I live in York (down in England) and funnily enough, we’ve (me and my wife) just arrived back from a trip to Iona – have you ever been there? ๐Ÿ™‚
We did loads of walking and took many photographs of this beautiful region. I was just reading through some of your blog posts and it seems that I have many more places that I should visit!
Thanks for sharing this bit about you. It’s good to know that you have such plans for the future … and such exciting ones at that! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi, I think we did. I very much enjoyed that course! I have been to Iona once – on a day trip from Oban, where I was staying for a few days. It’ s a very special, beautiful place – I would love to go back!

Yes – we stayed a day in Oban too! Did you walk up to that tower and along the coast to the memorial and the dog rock (?) and then do all your shopping in that big Tesco there? ๐Ÿ™‚ You must have taken the bus (or maybe you were driving) across Mull too – lovely landscape! ๐Ÿ™‚
Yes, I really enjoyed that course too, Evelyn. I wrote some really nice (IMHO) stories as part of those exercise.
